Celebration of 133rd National Librarian’s Day at Guru Nanak College Sukhchainana Sahib Phagwara
The 133rd National Librarian’s Day was
celebrated at Guru Nanak College Sukhchainana Sahib Phagwara to
commemorate the birth anniversary of the Father of Library Science in India,
Dr. S. R. Ranganathan. On this occasion, a special Inter-Departmental Quiz
Competition was organized on the theme “National Education Policy 2020”,
planned and coordinated by Librarian Sukhwinder Singh along with the Library
Committee.
Teams from the Arts,
Commerce, and Computer Science Departments enthusiastically participated in
the competition, showcasing their knowledge and understanding of the policy
framework. After several engaging rounds of questioning, the Computer
Science Department team comprising Ms. Nehpreet Kaur, Mr. Tushar Sharma,
and Ms. Sonia emerged as the winners. The runner-up teams also performed
commendably.
The event commenced
with a warm welcome address by Dr. Reena Vij, who introduced the
programme. The quiz was expertly conducted by Dr. Yadwinderjit Singh Bhatia,
ensuring fair play and lively participation. The panel of judges included Dr.
Seema Kapoor, Prof. Ashutosh, and Madam Manpreet Kaur (CS), who evaluated
the responses with diligence and impartiality. In addition to
competing in the quiz, the Music Department students gave a melodious
performance, which was warmly appreciated by the audience and added a cultural
touch to the academic celebration.
College President
S. Jatinder Singh Palahi appreciated the efforts behind the programme and
praised the spirit of participation among the students. Principal Dr. Gurdev
Singh Randhawa distributed certificates to the winning team and the
runner-up teams were acknowledged with appreciation prizes, in his address,
emphasized that such academic activities play a vital role in nurturing talent,
enhancing knowledge, and fostering confidence among students. He further
encouraged students to actively participate in similar initiatives to unlock
their potential.
The event concluded
with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Reena Vij , who expressed gratitude to
the management, faculty, students, and staff for their support and
participation, which contributed to making the programme a grand success.

ਸੁਖਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਲਾਇਬ੍ਰੇਰੀ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ “ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਨੀਤੀ 2020” ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ‘ਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਇੰਟਰ-ਡਿਪਾਰਟਮੈਂਟ ਕਵਿਜ਼
ਮੁਕਾਬਲਾ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।

ਕਾਮਰਸ ਅਤੇ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਵਿਭਾਗਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ
ਟੀਮਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਪੂਰਵਕ ਭਾਗ ਲਿਆ\ ਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਨੀਤੀ ਸੰਬੰਧੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਕਈ ਰੋਮਾਂਚਕ ਰਾਊਂਡਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ, ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੀ ਟੀਮ, ਨਿਹਪ੍ਰੀਤ
ਕੌਰ, ਤੁਸ਼ਾਰ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਸੋਨੀਆ ਨੇ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਰਨਰ-ਅੱਪ ਟੀਮਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੀ
ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਡਾ. ਰੀਨਾ ਵਿਜ ਦੇ ਸਵਾਗਤ
ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਈ। ਕਵਿਜ਼ ਦੀ ਕਾਰਗੁਜ਼ਾਰੀ ਡਾ. ਯਾਦਵਿੰਦਰਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਭਾਟੀਆ ਨੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ
ਸੁਚੱਜੇ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਭਾਲੀ। ਡਾ. ਸੀਮਾ ਕਪੂਰ,
ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਆਸ਼ੁਤੋਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਮਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ
(ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਸਾਇੰਸ) ਨੇ ਜੱਜਾਂ ਵਜੋਂ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਨਿਭਾਈ। ਇਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਸੰਗੀਤ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ
ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸੰਗੀਤਕ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੂਹਾਨੀ ਤੇ ਸੰਸਕ੍ਰਿਤਿਕ ਰੰਗ ਭਰ
ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਸ. ਜਤਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਪਲਾਹੀ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ
ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ੰਸਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਜੋਸ਼ ਤੇ ਭਾਗੀਦਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਸਿਤਾਇਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ। ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ
ਡਾ. ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਸਿੰਘ ਰੰਧਾਵਾ ਨੇ ਵਿਜੇਤਾ ਟੀਮ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਟੀਫਿਕੇਟ ਅਤੇ ਰਨਰ-ਅੱਪ ਟੀਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਭਾਰ
ਦੇ ਚਿੰਨ੍ਹ-ਸਵਰੂਪ ਪੁਰਸਕਾਰ ਭੇਟ ਕੀਤੇ। ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਾ. ਰੰਧਾਵਾ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ
ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਕੈਡਮਿਕ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮਾਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਲੁਕੇ ਹੋਏ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਭਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖੋਜਿਆ
ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਨਿਖਾਰਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦਾ ਸਮਾਪਨ ਡਾ. ਰੀਨਾ ਵਿਜ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਵੋਟ ਆਫ
ਥੈਂਕਸ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਇਆ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕੀ, ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ, ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਟਾਫ ਦਾ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਸਮਾਰੋਹ ਨੂੰ ਸਫਲ ਬਣਾਇਆ।
